Rationale:

This artwork was produced by Shane Mankitya Cook with support from Salisbury Youth Council as part of a Domestic Violence and Family Violence Project undertaken in 2019.

The work acknowledges the importance of standing up and speaking out against violence in our community. The words incorporated into the design were chosen words brainstormed by youth members in our community represent a supportive relationship.

The artwork starts dark and brightens through the design, the final colour used is white symbolising a pathway to a brighter place.
