The trip from Salisbury to Adelaide used to take several hours

In December 1856 once the Salisbury Railway Station was built and the line finally reached Salisbury, the trip only took approximately 40 minutes. Fast track to today and the same journey takes 25 minutes. The train originally had ten carriages and 400 tickets were sold at 11 shillings each, which also included a meal in Salisbury.
