Salisbury Clock Tower Art Work

Salisbury Clock Tower Art Work, by Paul Herzich

Clock Tower Artwork

The clock tower artwork was produced by Paul Herzich of mantirridesign with support by Kaurna Elders, Uncle Frank Wanganeen and Uncle Kevin ‘Dookie’ O’Loughlin OAM.

The artwork is a Kaurna cultural marker of ancient stories within the local Salisbury area. Long ago, the dingo lived on this land. Its story connects us with mobs up in Queensland and beyond. Dingo footprints can be seen on the artwork traversing across Kaurna Country in spirit.

What was once a meeting place along a main trade route for Kaurna, Narungga, Ngadjuri and Nukunu Nations’ is the Vernal Pools, which lie adjacent to the southern end of the Parafield Airport. Their ancient story of sharing and protecting freshwater sources connects the four above Nations, the creation of landforms and the working together of the area's local animals.

Funded by the City of Salisbury’s City Centre: Church Street and John Street Upgrade Project 2023.

Officially opened by: Mayor Gillian Aldridge OAM, on 23 January 2023.
